MISSIONS
Eagles’ Wings Work Day
Eagles’ Wings Youth Ranch provides an early intervention and prevention program for at risk boys and girls. The ranch meets the great needs of New Mexico’s disadvantaged young people through a camp in Mountainair and with follow-up programs. Eagles’ Wings Youth Ranch is a 40-acre tract of land that was donated to the First Baptist Church of Mountainair in 1940. The first summer camps began in 1998. Today, Eagles’ Wings welcomes an average of 100 youth each summer to its camp, along with many dedicated staff volunteers who come from across the country. Demand for the camp has grown so much that a larger chapel is being remodeled and plans are in place for an additional dormitory.
Hoffmantown has previously supported Eagles Wings with a work day to help prepare the camp for its summer opening. Hoffmantown is once again planning for a work day to do a deep clean and possibly light maintenance to help get ready for the camp season and for the staffers that are arriving. We need volunteers for May 17, 7:30am-5pm. Transportation via the Hoffmantown bus will be provided, along with lunch and refreshments. To volunteer or if you have any questions, contact Missions@Hoffmantown.org.
